Why Still?
The name Still reflects the way our candles burn—a slow, steady presence, with a quietness found in the pause.
It holds the heart of what matters to us: finding meaning in slowing down and being present within that stillness. It is how we make, where we find meaning and what we hope our candles offer to others.
TAMARA
Tamara is an artist and artisan, who gives intentional care to that which she creates.
She came to candle making during a time when she needed to slow down and prioritize her health and emotional landscape. Slowing down and creating with her hands has always been a constant support to which she returns.
What began as a support to her healing became something more—something to share. She found appreciation in the honesty of working with natural materials, and peace in the rhythm of dipping, using somatic practices as she dips—an act of presence with herself and each candle as it takes form.
She guides the creative direction of Still, developing new offerings by listening to our customers and learning from the nature of beeswax. She holds the vision of Still as a space for connection—to self, to others, and to nature.
RICK AND GAY LYNN
Together and individually, Rick and Gay Lynn bring steadiness and wholehearted support to Still.
Rick handles much of the practical and physical work—from refining tools to preparing equipment—and offers warm emotional support throughout the process.
Gay Lynn brings her marketing sensibility, supportive spirit, and the generosity of making space for this work to unfold in their home kitchen.
Together, they enjoy designing and creating unique candle holders for each candle size, as well as, exploring different candle options to offer our customers.
They joined early on to support the creation of these candles, and both are essential to making Still possible. Their care, creativity, and dedicated commitment help shape the heart of this company.
Our Values
Still Candles Co. is a collaboration grounded in care, craftsmanship, and stillness.
We value quality, intention, and timelessness, holding close the importance of staying small, thoughtful and attuned to the pace of life.
Our work is rooted in preserving the slow art of making, not just as a process, but as a way of being. We create a limited number of handcrafted beeswax candles to honour the integrity of every piece. Each candle is made to offer presence and quiet beauty into all of life’s moments.
